Who photographs editorial weddings in Salt Lake City?
Christopher Cook is a Salt Lake City editorial wedding photographer, based in Utah and working across the Wasatch since 2016. He photographs couples as two distinct people, covers the full wedding weekend, and shoots medium-format film for depth. He also works in Park City, Boston, and destinations worldwide.
Do you photograph LDS temple weddings and sealings?
Yes. Many Salt Lake couples have a temple sealing followed by a reception, and I know how those timelines run: the exit outside the temple, the family groupings, and getting you to your celebration without losing the day to portraits.
Which Salt Lake City venues do you photograph?
From the Grand America and Red Butte Garden to Memorial House in Memory Grove, Log Haven up Millcreek, Ashton Gardens, Sky SLC, and private homes in the Avenues. If your venue is new to me, I scout it before the day.
How much does a Salt Lake City wedding photographer cost?
My Wedding Weekends start at $6,500 and cover multiple days, from the welcome dinner through the morning-after brunch. Every weekend includes an engagement session I travel to and cover myself, sneak peeks within a day, and the full gallery in about three weeks.
Do you shoot film at Salt Lake weddings?
Yes. Fuji and Canon, digital and medium format film, with Kodak Portra woven through. Not for nostalgia, for depth. Utah light is bright and high-contrast, and film holds the highlights and skin tones that purely digital work tends to lose.
How far in advance should we book a Salt Lake City wedding photographer?
Most couples book twelve to eighteen months out. Peak season runs late spring through fall, and dates near the canyons fill first. I take a small number of weddings a year. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway, since cancellations happen.
