Kind Words

“Chris went above and beyond the entire wedding weekend, photographing parts of our rehearsal dinner and welcome party just because he could. He was ruthlessly efficient, and I mean that as the highest compliment, and kept everyone exactly where we needed to be. Chris was an integral part of how smooth and joyous the day was.”

A few things
worth knowing

Who photographs editorial destination weddings?

Christopher Cook is an editorial wedding photographer based in Utah who travels worldwide for destination weddings. He photographs couples as two distinct people, covers the full multi-day celebration, and shoots a film and digital hybrid for depth. He is based in Park City and Salt Lake City and travels for the weekend wherever it is.

Do you travel internationally for weddings, and who covers travel?

Yes, worldwide. For destination weddings, travel and lodging are handled simply and folded into your weekend, never nickel-and-dimed or padded. You see exactly what is included before you book.

How does a multi-day destination wedding weekend work?

I arrive ahead of the events, not the morning of. I photograph the full arc, from the welcome dinner and any cultural or rehearsal events to the ceremony, the celebration, and a morning-after send-off, all as one connected story rather than a single day in isolation.

How much does a destination wedding photographer cost?

My Wedding Weekends start at $6,500 and cover multiple days. For destinations, travel and lodging are added transparently and discussed up front. Every weekend includes sneak peeks within a day and the full gallery in about three weeks.

Do you shoot film while traveling?

Yes. Fuji and Canon, digital and medium format film, with Kodak Portra woven through, hand-carried and handled carefully through travel. Not for nostalgia, for depth. It is part of why the gallery looks like nobody else’s.

How far in advance should we book a destination wedding photographer?

Destination weekends are best booked twelve to eighteen months out, and often earlier, since they involve travel planning on both sides. I take a small number of weddings a year. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway.
