Le Jardin Utah

I had the pleasure of capturing Stephanie and Gavin’s wedding in Salt Lake City, Utah. They met while serving their religious missions in South Korea. They asked me to document their garden wedding at Le Jardin, a gorgeous venue filled with flowers and greenery. Their ceremony was beautiful! The Paebak Ceremony consisted of all their friends and family coming together to bless them as they enter their marriage. This is a traditional Korean custom where the bride and groom are showered with coins. They ended the night with a sparkler send-off! We even had sparklers for every guest! It was such a special moment to share with them as they started on their new life journey together

The Venue: Le Jardin In Salt Lake City Utah

Le Jardin is a beautiful venue filled with flowers and greenery, greenhouses, and gardens. It’s located in the Mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah, and is perfect for any wedding or special event. The brides were so excited when they first saw their venue that they cried! They couldn’t believe how beautiful it was.

The couple  had a Paebak Ceremony that consisted of all their friends and family coming together to bless them as they enter their marriage. In Korean culture, this is an important tradition where you gather your loved ones around you to start your new life together as husband and wife.

The lovers met while serving religious missions in South Korea

Stephanie and Gavin met while serving religious missions in South Korea. Stephanie was serving in Busan, South Korea and Gavin was serving in Seoul, South Korea.

I was asked to capture their garden wedding in Salt Lake City. They had a Paebak Ceremony that consisted of all their friends and family coming together to bless them as they enter their marriage. This is a traditional Korean custom where the bride and groom are showered with coins. Their ceremony was beautiful and it was so much fun to see everyone come together to wish the newlyweds good luck in their future.

In the summer of 2019, Stephanie and Gavin met while serving religious missions in Seoul Korea. They both live in Provo Utah—Gavin to finish his schooling, Stephanie as a neuroscientist at a major hospital nearby Salt Lake City.

They wanted to keep their wedding small and intimate so they could spend time with everyone who came out to celebrate with them on their special day!

We ended the night with a sparkler send-off! They even had sparklers for every guest! It was such a special moment to share with them as they started on their new life journey together.

The best part is that you don’t have to be an expert or buy fancy equipment to make your own sparkler send-off. Here’s how:

(Note: As a Utah and Dallas Wedding photographer I highly recommend sparklers, in a controlled environment to avoid dry brush catching fire and causing harm)

1) Purchase a pack of sparklers online from the “Grand Wedding Exit” HERE

2) Cut one end off each sparkler so they will stand up straight when placed in water.

3) Once cut, place the sparkler into a glass filled with water so that it stands upright.

4) Light the other end of the sparkler and watch as it burns down into ashes!

Paebak Ceremony

The Paebak ceremony is a traditional Korean wedding custom. The bride and groom are showered with coins to wish them good luck in their future, and the ceremony is performed by the bride’s family and friends. Then bride and groom stand under a canopy while their parents place several small bowls in front of them.

Each bowl is filled with coins, rice, or beans (the latter two are common in traditional Korean weddings). The guests then take turns throwing the contents into the air above the couple’s heads.

Conclusion

The wedding was everything that Stephanie and Gavin could have hoped for, and more. The ceremony was beautiful, the venue was amazing, and all of their friends came together to celebrate with them. It was such an honor to be a part of this special day in their lives!
